Texas A&M offensive guard Layden Robinson was recently named to ESPN's 2022 pre season All American team. The 6-foot-4, 330 pound Robinson was placed on the first unit after starting ten games last season. Despite missing two games due to injury, his mass and nasty demeanor contributed to the Aggies overcoming injuries and inexperience to finish in the top half of the Southeastern Conference in rushing average per game. He was given the Offensive Toughness Award and Offensive Aggie Award for strength & conditioning at the annual team banquet.

Jimbo Fisher has strengthened both lines of scrimmage at Texas A&M in recent years, and the 6-4, 330-pound Robinson is poised for a breakout season from his right guard position. This is his fourth year in the program, and he made his first career start a year ago. He has everything it takes to blossom into the top interior offensive lineman in college football this season.

Robinson has been making the rounds of several all league and All American teams as well as being included on multiple pre season watch lists. The Rotary Club of Houston released the watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award (given annually to the nation's top offensive lineman, defensive lineman or linebacker), the Outland Trophy (given to the nation's top lineman), and the Wuerffel Trophy (presented annually to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field).

The big man is also projected as one of the top potential targets for National Football League teams in the 2023 NFL Draft. Pro Football Focus gave him a 85.0 run blocking grade during the 2021 campaign and their analysts graded him as a third round selection if he would have come out after the 2021 season.

As a high school prospect, Robinson was an unanimous selection to the first-team 11-5A All-District team and was  named the Houston area UIL Offensive Player of the Year finalist by the Houston Touchdown Club.  Robinson was pegged as the fifth highest rated center prospect in the country by the 247 Sports Composite which had him ranked at 0.8850 in the 2019 recruiting class. He played in just two games versus Lamar and UTSA and took a redshirt year in his first year on campus. He then earned the backup right guard spot in his second season and saw snaps

Robinson has dedicated his time to the Brazos Valley community on a number of occasions, volunteering at Twin City Missions, helping to clean up trash, wipe down walls and windows, while also helping to mop floors and clean flower beds. He has also participated in the Texas A&M Athletics Sports Day event, joining other student-athletes in volunteering with the local Boys & Girls Club to teach different sports and games to the children. Robinson helped create football activities for the children to participate in.   The Manvel, Texas native is also in good standing in the classroom and is set to graduate in December of 2022, earning his bachelor's degree in communications.
