Let’s face the facts: I don’t actually have any power over my toddler—only J.J. from CoCoMelon does. His songs and antics can teach my kids basic sign language, get him to ride a bus, help him see exercise and vegetables as cool, and, with the help of the new CoComelon X BURSTkids Sonic Toothbrush, convince him to brush his teeth.

It’s not just the character that makes this my favorite kids' toothbrush. With four sons under age 7 we have tried many toothbrushes, and this is the only one my kids are still using willingly.

Burst's CoComelon-branded sonic toothbrush is a rechargeable electric toothbrush designed just for kids who are fans of the popular TV show. The handle is smaller so it's easier for little kids to hold and use, and the toothbrush has a built-in two minute timer. Purchase of the brush also gives kids access to exclusive CoComelon videos.

The Cocomelon Sonic is a good choice for kids.

The toothbrush comes with CoCoMelon cut-outs to play with and exclusive access to an additional brushing video they haven’t binge-watched 1,000 times already on Netflix. Of course, immediately after watching the video, my kids wanted to try the toothbrush themselves—total win.

My absolute favorite part of the toothbrush is the black bristles. There’s nothing grosser than having a kid brush their teeth after eating an Oreo, only to have the white bristles stained for the next few weeks. It’s kind of brilliant.

I also noticed that it’s easier to see how much white toothpaste my sons are using against the black bristles, which helps them understand just what a “pea-sized” dollop means, not way more.

Everything about this product was designed for kid use, rather than for an adult helping a toddler. The button is big enough and easy enough for a 3-year-old to push himself, rather than coming to get help every time. The base is simple and wide enough to place the toothbrush on for charging, and there are very clear lights to show when it is charged or not. Even the plug seems meant for a small hand, and has a giant smiley face. While these features might seem minor, having kid products that are fully accessible to very young kids is rare.

Changing and replacing the brush head is quite simple: You simply pull on the hold head to remove, and push the new one on. Easy enough for a 3-year-old with a little adult supervision.

Charging doesn’t need to be a daily event, with one overnight charge producing up to 4-weeks of battery life.

Subscriptions are a parent’s best friend, including new toothbrush heads that show up every three months, doubling as a reminder to switch them out. You can sign up for a refill plan, which costs $7 per head every 12 weeks.

One complaint I have about this toothbrush, and many others like it, is that the pointy metal piece that holds the head on is a bit dangerous if a young child is changing it themselves.

Also worth noting is that it can cause an issue if your kids are playing toothbrush sword fight without the head actually on the brush. Not that I would know about this from personal experience (wink, wink).

The only other downside might be the price, which at just under $40 is substantially higher than some other electric toothbrushes designed for kids. However, I feel the quality will be worth it over multiple years, rather than switching out cheaper ones more frequently.

Yes. This product is best for young children who need to improve their oral care but haven’t had success with other electric toothbrushes that are too difficult to turn on, charge, or manage. It truly enables young children to take control of their brushing habit, like J.J.

Now if only he could convince them to floss, too.
